Dear friends and family,

I want to introduce you to some friends of mine, a couple living and serving God in Thailand in ways I can't even imagine. She is Thai and he is from Minnesota so they have a very unique ability to connect deeply with the hurting and pain that always exists in countries that don't know Jesus - and to tell us about it.

They have around 12 children they are caring for which have been abused in many ways. They are trying to build a new home since their previous home was sold out from under them. There are many elephants in the new building site so they have to sleep in a tree until they can get some walls up. They could use some good construction help, if you're interested in an adventure that will really help a tired and stressed brother in Christ. Oh, and they have a foundation (kinda like a non-profit corporation) in Thailand under which the Adams Family Project functions. From what I've seen, they truly follow the Lord day by day.

Here is the latest update from Rodney telling about a heavy burden:

Hello friends

His name is Allen Miller. He is 57 or 67 from Brooklyn NY. He has multiple sclorosis, and I think prostate cancer.

He is slowly being starved to death by the woman who brought him to Thailand. I have never seen a person that thin and still alive. He looks like the pictures I have seen of the concentration camps in Germany. When he arrived here 2 years ago he was 180 pounds. He says he is less than 100 now but I would guess maybe less than 90. He can move his right arm and lift his head a couple of inches off the pillow. I did not see any other movement.

My heart is very heavy that we have to wait till Monday to go back to court to get temporary custody of him and return him to the hospital. Phimpha got a call last Wednesday evening from a friend that was hired to clean him up. She's only seen him one time and when ever the woman caring for him was not close Allan would pull her arm and say please help me. The lady heard him ask her for help and jumped up on to the bed and sat on his chest and pinned him with her knees and slapped him. She is not of sound mind and body.

She came to America and was working at a nursing home where he was. He got a little better and they took him home to his wife and Allan's wife hired her to come into the home to help care for him. She won him over and split him out of the family and then convinced him to come to Thailand where she said she could get better medicine and herbs for him. He left his wife of 20 years and two grown children and came here with her.

At first he would sit in the wheel chair out side and talk to people who could speak English, but that quickly changed. She had him convinced she loved him and was doing what was best for him and as he lost weight she left him in bed and he could no longer contact anyone. She got control of his moneys and that is all she wants. She is a very terrible person and everyone in the neighborhood says no one will ever get him away from her and he will die there.

We got him out and to the hospital but she succeeded in screaming and complaining till they took him back home to her house. She lies and screams and complains and makes a scene till they give in. The police would not help us much with her because they said she got him to Thailand so she has more right to him than us. So we go back to court on Monday. He is not a saint by any means but he knows God and no human should be treated like he is. We are going to try to contact his family and get him sent home but she has all his info and is not giving it out. If he leaves her money stops and that is why she is fighting. In America she would be in jail already but justice is not always justice here.

I need to vent a little here so please send me any advice you think after you read this. God seems to be coming up short for us lately. We have had some people send us a lot in donations but the out going for His growing Ministry is way beyond what is coming in. When we got the word about Allan we had 6 dollars to our name. Not even enough for the kids for school the next day. Our hearts were and still are heavy to help Allan so we prayed and told God if he wanted us to drive 10 hours to help Allan we need gas and food for our kids. We prayed that day and in the evening a friend called to say He was feeling called to send us a lot of money and he did. We Thanked God for the confirmation and left the next morning. Expenses drained us the next day. Twice we had to call friends for help and now that is gone as well. Electric and water bills not paid, several truck repairs needed but can not do them, behind on the truck payment a month as well, some of our outside mi nistries not getting helped by us, trying to get a place to live in built and not enough to do that. And on and on and yet He continues to send us more work.

We know what is to suffer, we live it. What is He trying to show or teach us? We pray about all decisions and we are doing his will, what more does he want of us? Paul comes to mind. That man suffered beyond belief while he worked to spread the word of God. Is that what is in store for us too? I know His work is not easy but I also know it is nothing for him to help out some here. We are ragged around the edges and more keeps coming. Tip (one of our helpers) has now gone to college today and the new man we have is not capable of taking care of the kids on his own so now Phimpha and I can not go out together. Someone has to be here with the kids. Don't get me wrong I am so gratefull to be doing his work. I am just feeling overwhelmed lately. Phimpha is very tired but her Faith is much stronger. Please pray for us!

I have no time to proof read this and have to get home to the children. I hesitate to send it but will.

Blessings
Rodney and Phimha

I'm sorry I don't have photos of Rodney and Phimpha with me. I am in the Philippines now preparing for FaithCamp Asia. If you have any questions, you can call or email Natalie at the home office (208-926-4413) for more info. We're trying to find a way to send funds to Rodney asap and we think Paypal is the way to go. I've included a special link to donate through Paypal for this project:
