Natalie had her hands full with doing all the accounting for JFA, being a full-time Mom and teacher to 2 homeschoolers, and keeping things running while I'm out traveling the globe. I want to publicly thank her and confess my deep appreciation for her. Oh, also, and I love her a lot! Here's a brief rundown of what happened: ASI: North Asia Pacific Division First stop was the ASI convention for the Northern Asia Pacific Division in Korea. There our HCBN team from the Philippines recorded the powerful sermons on video. What a blessing it was, with some incredibly powerful speakers including <a href="http://www.adventist.org/world-church/presidential/">Pr. Jeffrey Mbwana</a> (Gengeral Conference Vice President), <a href="http://pcoo.gov.ph/embassies_phil-dir.htm">Pastor/Ambassador H.E. Bienvenido Tejano</a> (Ambassador of the Philippines), and <a href="http://gospelministry.org/">David Gates</a>. The Holy Spirit really moved and attendance was good, with representatives from Korea, Japan, China and Mongolia! Mbwana for us is that we may be having a FaithCamp in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanzania">Tanzania</a> next April, coordinated by Pr. Mbwana. JFA = Jesus for Africa? :) <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td><a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/DOCUwood#p/u/2/KprfQTl4ou8"><img src="http://jesus4asia.org/newsletters/11oct6/PrMbwana560.jpg" width="560" height="315" alt="Mbwana" /></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center">Pastor Jeffrey Mbwana delivered a powerful and inspiring <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/DOCUwood#p/u/2/KprfQTl4ou8">message</a>!</td> </tr> </table> --- FaithCamp Philippines After Korea we travelled to the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines">Philippines</a> where we held a <a href="http://faithcampasia.org/wp/">FaithCamp</a> in the <a href="http://www.wvc-adventist.org/">West Visayan Conference</a> and all the pastors were required to attend! (last year the pastors were banned from attending and we had to hold the meetings in a non-denominational venue). What a powerful time that was! It was held in a new building with no walls so we felt nature all around us. The weather was beautiful except for the bugs from the surrounding rice fields that were attracted to the lights! They got in the hair and ears of whoever was speaking in the evenings! But what an inspiration to have spiritual meetings surrounded by God's nature. <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td><img src="http://jesus4asia.org/newsletters/11oct6/PhilBuilding.jpg" width="560" height="306" alt="wvaBuild" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="30" align="center" valign="top">Here's the building we met in for 4 days, before everyone came. It was beautiful!</td> </tr> </table> They have requested us to return and hold these meetings for the next 5 years running! The pastors were amazed to find out we don't receive regular salaries but rather work by faith alone. There was great relief on their part when they learned how we handle tithe. There were many rumors going around about David and he was able to explain and answer many questions in a special meeting with the pastors. We enjoyed great unity of faith and spirit after these things were cleared up. <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td><img src="http://jesus4asia.org/newsletters/11oct6/PhilComp.jpg" width="560" height="300" alt="PhilComp" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center" valign="top">Here David is battling the storm of bugs. It was recorded on video also, by the HCBN team in the Philippines. The videos are available on <a href="http://hcbn.org/watch-hcbn/online-videos/wvc-campmeeting-2011">HCBN.org</a>.</td> </tr> </table> Several people told me that "the Philippines is being infected by FaithCamp." Meaning the laity are awakening to their priveleges of sharing the Gospel by Faith! I met one man who attended in 2009 and was inspired to reach out to a previously unreached area of the island of Mindoro. He is doing this purely by faith and his own initiative. In this new area he made contact with a completely unreached tribe up in the hills. He found a teacher willing to go and if he just had a small monthly stipend he could send him there. I didn't have any money on me at the time so I asked David if I could borrow some from him. He gave everything in his pocket (about $200 of mixed currency) and that will carry provide for that teacher through December! I tried t pay him back later but he refused. She is a believer like me and you and is dedicating her life to helping her people, who are very poor and uneducated Muslims in Mindanoa. The man on the right is an SDA Pastor who has befriended her and broaght her to Christ and to FaithCamp for a testimony. Many Christians there do not like Muslims but the Lord is breaking down the barriers. Would you like to <a href="mailto:jwood@jesus4asia.org?subject=Help Mindanao">help</a>?</td> </tr> </table> I was also priviledged to meet a real Seventh-day Adventist Muslim. She is what they used to call a princess of her tribe but she has gotten a degree is social work and is working to help her own people who are very poor and uneducated. What a privilege it was to stand beside someone from such a different background but sense the same spirit and unity of faith. Jucaban.</td> </tr> </table> --- FaithCamp Indonesia Since there was a bit of an overlap of the Philippines and Indonesia meetings, <a href="http://www.strawberrymeadowassociation.com/">Stephen Dickie</a> and I travelled on to Indonesia on Thursday the 15th. We awoke at 4am and arrived at midnight. Friday we opened FaithCamp and I preached 3 sermons, a record for me. David and Boyz arrived Friday night. The church there at <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=malang,+indonesia&aq=&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=66.320747,143.789062&vpsrc=0&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Malang,+East+Java,+Indonesia&t=m&z=13&iwloc=A">Malang</a>, Indonesia, was open and seeking and the Holy Spirit was poured out in revival power! What a fantastic time it was, with many people making commitments to full time service in mission. At the end of the meetings there were 294 people still in attendance. HCBN:Indonesia was started at our first FaithCamp in Indonesia last January, a nd their team tirelessly recorded this beautiful event. Such talent for God!</td> </tr> </table> We then flew to Jakarta where we had a HCBN-Indonesia board meeting to help re-organize that wonderful ministry that was started at FaithCamp last January. The beautiful church and church group there warmly received us and the Holy Spirit was poured out in great measure there. The end of those meetings saw a brand new broadcast ministry begin - HCBN-Malaysia! It took 57 hours to get home, with a complex flight sequence through Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Chicago, Charlotte, and finally Chattanooga. Please pray for the Lord to bring the FaithCamp message to all believers so that workers will be sent into the field, for the harvest truly is ripe! Please continue to hold up in prayer and support the <a href="http://www.jesus4asia.org/wp/?page_id=4">Bible Workers</a>, the new <a href="http://www.jesus4asia.org/wp/?page_id=366">Orphanage Home</a>, the JFA <a href="http://www.jesus4asia.org/wp/?page_id=426">Evening Schools</a>, and all the <a href="http://www.jesus4asia.org/wp/?page_id=145">missionaries</a> and <a href="http://www.jesus4asia.org/wp/?page_id=399">workers</a> on the front lines. We awoke at 4am and arrived at midnight. Friday we opened FaithCamp and I preached 3 sermons, a record for me. David and Boyz arrived Friday night. The church there at <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=malang,+indonesia&aq=&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=66.320747,143.789062&vpsrc=0&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Malang,+East+Java,+Indonesia&t=m&z=13&iwloc=A">Malang</a>, Indonesia, was open and seeking and the Holy Spirit was poured out in revival power! What a fantastic time it was, with many people making commitments to full time service in mission. At the end of the meetings there were 294 people still in attendance. HCBN:Indonesia was started at our first FaithCamp in Indonesia last January, a nd their team tirelessly recorded this beautiful event. It took 57 hours to get home, with a complex flight sequence through Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Chicago, Charlotte, and finally Chattanooga. The Lord has done a miracle and provided more than enough means to make the downpayment for the new property for the orphanage! This will ensure that it will not be sold to anyone else. In the meantime, though, please pray that the funds will actually get to their destination, which is not as easy as it should be, let me tell you.... But this means that we can take possession of the property and the children can move there and start enjoying their new surroundings. My daughter, who co-operates <a href="http://www.savingthelives.org/">Saving the Lives</a> Ministry with her brother, has collected some toys and a doll to send over as a kind of house-warming gift. Please let us know if you would like to do something like that also. They would love Legos especially and anything like that, but they don't read English. Yet. :) I'm including a Google Earth view of India so you can get a general idea of the orphanage's location. Next month I will be travelling to Asia to conduct <a href="http://faithcamponline.org/">FaithCamp</a> meetings in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I'm hoping I can pop over to India and get some photos of the kids in their new home. Again, your prayers are highly coveted! We would like to <a href="http://jesus4asia.org/invest/">pay this property off as soon as possible</a> as the owner is a very old man and Israel is afraid that if he goes then we will have to deal with his relatives and they could easily cause problems (as in: raise the price). The Government laws have changed and we are no longer in compliance with regulations. The house is just not big enough for 11 active children! For the last few years we have been actively looking for land in the country where we could build a home and raise our children away from the city smog and unhealthy influences, but have been unsuccessful until now. But just this week God has lead us to this beautiful property! The owner had built this place to run as a retirement home but was unable to make it work due to some family problems. That is why it is set up so nicely to handle lots of people. He is a Christian and is very happy to have it used for the orphanage and has reduced the price from $86,000to around $75,000 US. In order to secure it we must put 10% down within the next few days and pay the balance within the next 2 months. Is that possible? Humanly no, but the timing of finding this property and how perfectly it fits our needs both now and in the future, make us believe that this is God's plan for our orphanage and base of operations for Jesus for Asia in India. Jesus for Asia - FaithCamp 2011 UCA

Dear friends & family, FaithCamp 2011 is just around the corner (this coming Wednesday to be precise) and the Lord is bringing the pieces into place. Video streaming will be broadcast LIVE on MissionTV.com. Daniel Hill is working out a solution where we can switch between the regular MissionTV stream and FaithCamp in Spangle Washington without any interuption. So you should be able to just leave it on and watch when you get a chance. We will also have the videos for download shortly after they happen. :) For those of you registering for a Dorm room, please bring your own bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels etc.) Unfortunately the UCA Cafeteria will be closed during FaithCamp (the staff need a break) so we will be on our own for food. We have scheduled 1.5 hours for each meal break so that should be plenty of time to cook camp-style or run into town for a meal. There is a very nice restaurant in Spangle, just a few minutes drive from the campus, whom I have called and they say they have Garden burgers and several vegetarian selections. We'll be using only the Church, the Tent/RV Sites and the Boys' Dorm. It's a beautifull campus. Jesus for Asia - FaithCamp 2011 Updates

Dear friends and family, We are just 2.5 weeks away from the start of the 5th Annual FaithCamp and here are some updates: � The Upper Columbia Academy Church has offered to let us have our meetings in their Church! This will make things very comfortable for the attendees, although we may miss the steel and tarp shed with the concrete floor that faithcampers have become accustomed to. We'll have to keep in mind those that are kneeling in the mud all over the world. � The UCA Cafeteria has requested us to not use their facilities during Faithcamp, so we will need to prepare our own food. For those in the dorm there is a small kitchen that is available but you may want to bring a cooler to keep your food in your room. But there is a stove there. For those in tents it will be the real camping deal again! Otherwise there is a Taco Bell about 15 minutes drive away! � Unfortunately, due to my own lack of communication, Pr. E. Doug Venn and his family will not be attending FaithCamp this year. I'm bummed about that but we will have a special time set aside to view a video documentary that shows a slice of his life as a front-line church planting coordinator in Bangkok, a city of 12 million souls in which many have no knowledge of Jesus. � The good news is that Becky Gates will be there to share her views and convictions of serving God in these last days of earth's history. :) � Pray about this, but it looks like we will have the prayer room happening again this year. Melissa Miranda just called and said she would like to come and lead that special ministry again this year, she just needs to clear it with her co-workers. God is good. � Registration is open. This will be an inspiring time and I see God's providence at work again. What is the object of assembling together? Is it to inform God, to instruct Him by telling Him all we know in prayer? We meet together to edify one another by an interchange of thoughts and feelings, to gather strength, and light, and courage by becoming acquainted with one another's hopes and aspirations; by our earnest, heartfelt prayers, offered up in faith, we receive refreshment and vigor from the Source of our strength. --Testimonies, vol. 2, p. 578. {ChS 194.3} Our camp-meetings have another object. . . . They are to promote spiritual life among our own people. . . . God has committed to our hands a most sacred work, and we need to meet together to receive instruction, that we may be fitted to perform this work. We need to understand what part we shall individually be called upon to act in building up the cause of God in the earth, in vindicating God's holy law, and in lifting up the Saviour as "the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
