Smiles

Jesus for Asia helps you multiply your influence by providing ways to enable native missionaries in Asia to work full time in telling their friends and neighbors about Jesus, either by door-to-door evangelism or ministering to the children. We also seek to use communication technology in the local language and culture. Partnering with Christ in His work brings rich rewards, both now and for eternity.

Jesus for Asia seeks the inheritance of Isaiah 54:3 by following
the command in Joshua 1:1-9 fulfilling the promise of Matthew 24:14.

The Lord Opens the Door to the Philippines

Jon Wood July 29th, 2008

Those of you who attended FaithCamp may remember Mike Cordes who gave a short testimony and publicly claimed the Southern Philippines as his inheritance (according to Isaiah 54:3). The Lord has been honoring that claim and is opening the door in a mighty way. Please check out his new website to read more at philippines.jesus4asia.org

FaithCamp a Launching Pad

Jon Wood July 3rd, 2008

The Lord is moving on His church with an urgent end-time message. He longs for His people to wake up from their death-stupor and plan for the end of the world by giving all into His work of reaching those that do not know Him. Over $219,000 was invested in the Kingdom of Heaven, showing that God’s people are beginning to hear and recognize His voice! Hallelujah! There are some people developing treasure in Heaven! Check out FaithCampOnline.org for more.

And keep an eye out for the announcement of video and audio from these powerful presentations.

BenSharon.org

There aren’t very many blogs out there that get me excited, but a new one has just popped up that makes me really happy. Ben Sharon has started posting his experiences on the web. They’re fresh, optimistic, and informed. There aren’t many people in Asia willing to tell us what’s happening over there. Most of them are pretty focused on having a good time, or just surviving. Ben is seriously interested in a people group that is undergoing some pretty harsh treatment and this gives him purpose and drive in life. I hope you enjoy his writing also and encourage him to keep up the work so we can learn more about his experiences, views, and gain a fresh perspective on a very dark and overlooked corner of the world. Check it out at www.BenSharon.org

FaithCamp 2008!

Jon Wood April 24th, 2008

We’re home!!!! And now it’s time to prepare for FaithCamp! The only camp meeting in the world focused specifically on Missions* (this fact not backed up by research).

Mark your calendars for June 18-22.

Here’s the new website: www.FaithCampOnline.org

We’ve got some amazing speakers -
David Gates, the firethrower of faith, and last year’s main speaker, is coming back again, this time accompanied by his bride Becky Gates.
Tim & Wendy Maddocks will, for the first time, be sharing their experiences with God’s leading through sacrifice and poverty to imitate Jesus.
Martin Kim will be sharing how prayer can be so powerful.
Derrol and Cindy Sawyer will share of their heart change after seeing the needs in Asia for themselves (yes, they went to Thailand and Cambodia and lived to tell about it!)
Doug Venn, dynamic church planter in Bangkok, Thailand, will be sharing his passion for 13 million of Jesus’ neglected children.
Ben Sharon will be presenting the passion that has kept him in Thailand for over a year and will take him back. (please pray about this one because he doesn’t want to spend a month away from his life calling of helping the Karen people in Burma.)
The Meyer family will share what they learned on their trip through Thailand and India.

Ground Breaking for SE Asia TV Studio

Jon Wood April 6th, 2008

Although there are no funds to begin construction, the Lord has begun the work and He will see it to conclusion. So Jon and Phamor gathered in a little informal ceremony and by faith claimed the promise “wherever you put the sole of your foot, that have I already given unto you” and dug the first dirt in what will become, by the Grace of God, a mighty tool in the hands of God’s people for reach the hundreds of millions of souls still in darkness in one of the most densely populated regions of the 10/40 window.

Lazurus’ Thoughts

Jon Wood April 6th, 2008

Christ’s greatest miracle was for one of His best friends - Lazurus “thou whom thou lovest.”

And yet He let him die!

Can you imagine being Lasurus? Laying there on your bed, feeling the disease ravage your body. Thinking, “I thought Jesus loved me! Maybe He doesn’t, otherwise He would be here right now to heal me.” And as you feel the shades of death creeping over you, wondering “it shouldn’t be like this. Maybe I did something wrong, said something wrong, to incur His displeasure. Why would He let me die? Doesn’t He know that the dead can not praise Him? Can’t He see that if a close friend of His dies that people will say that He cannot heal people after all? It would bring disrepute to His cause!” Oh, why am I dying. I don’t want to die! I thought He loved me. Oh…… ”

Then - “why am I all wrapped up like this? Oh, why am I in a tomb? I must have died! Why am I alive now? What’s all that praising God sounds I hear out there? Wow! Jesus raised me from the dead! I did die! But Jesus brought me back to life! What a miracle! I sure am glad He let me die!”

It is the Lord’s doing

Jon Wood March 31st, 2008

…and it is marvelous in our eyes.

March 18 we sent out an email notifying you of our current crisis of funding for our Bible workers and children in India.  Since then we have received over $10,000 in donations from you in an outpouring of support, for people in far away countries you have never met but already love!  We are so encouraged by this demonstration of God’s people wanting to see God’s work go forward and thrive. We feel so uplifted by your amazing support through donations, promises of prayer and words that point our thoughts to a higher goal, a higher God than this earth can offer.  Continue Reading »

The Kiers

Jon Wood February 28th, 2008

The Lord is good. His mercies endure forever.

We were getting rather tired of Bangkok. The noise, the air polution, both sound and smell, the hurry, and most of all that oppressive spirit that seems to hang over the city. It infects me like taking an acid bath in cynicism and the ways of the flesh. My family was holed up in a hotel room trying to get well and the only things we could do for recreation involved spending money. Wanna go to the park? $2.00 each way. Wanna eat? $10.00 for the family. Then the Kier family (Mike and Merilee, from the Portland Oregon area and self-supporting missionaries) offered to let us stay at their home (after Merilee woke up at 3:30 in the morning with the crazy idea to email us with the offer) in Nakhon Luang about an hour and a half north of Bangkok.
