There are several Projects and Ministries underway in response to the desperate and hopeless plight of the Karen tribe from Burma (now called “Myanmar”).
Pastor Phamor’s Teachers
Isaiah 58 Ministries (the Adams family)
Ben Sharon Project
Pastor Phamor has been working with these people in the dangerous border area between Thailand and Burma. He now has a group of 25 SDA pastors ministering to nearly 4,000 church members, as well as around 27 schools with 147 teachers and about 2,000 students. They always build with bamboo because the schools are often burned to the ground by the Burmese army.
We have chosen to help raise funds and awareness for these teachers that are having such a hard time teaching the children there. We have very few photos and almost no video of them, but they often go for months without salary and have to spend much of their time growing rice – instead of teaching – just to stay alive.
