Kanchanaburi Children's Home

MINISTRY: Kanchanaburi Children’s Home

LOCATION: Thailand

TYPE OF MINISTRY: Children’s Home

WHO IS BEING HELPED: Children of Thailand

MISSIONARIES INVOLVED: Various

Two homes house the adults and children. The one above is new, the one below needs to be torn down and rebuilt because of termite damage.

Above, the dedicated staff; below, their garden and banana orchard where they grow some of their own food.

On the western border of Thailand lies a small acre of land that houses 26 children. Most of them are orphans from across the border in Burma who have lost their parents in the war or are coming to go to school in Thailand, where school is offered free by the Thai government. They stay at this Children’s home that gives them love and food and teaches them about Jesus.

I asked the caretaker what the monthly budget for food was, and he said it varies between $200 and $250 per month. I asked how in the world they can feed 26 children on that amount. He said that “the children are good at foraging in the jungle.” I believe we can do better than that.

Your gift will help provide more nutritious food for these children.
