For most of Sycilia’s adult life, she has wanted to do mission work. She has a passion for serving the Lord and only wants to follow where He leads. She believes that the Lord has been leading her on this path to work for Him in whatever way He chooses. When it was recommended that she attend the Idaho FaithCamp this year, she went in anticipation of being part of a Christ-filled group, which turned out to be one of the most uplifting experiences she has ever had. After much prayer, the ember burning inside her was fueled into a flame, which turned into a conviction that God was calling her to apply as a volunteer with Jesus for Asia. While still attending the meetings, she filled out her application. Sycilia believes that the Lord has led her every step of the way as she, in faith, stepped into the waters which the Lord parted for her and still continues to do so.

For most of Johnathan’s life, he has always wanted to go to Cambodia and is very excited that his dream is coming true!

Although Sycilia does not feel ‘qualified’ for this task, she is trusting that God knows what He is doing and will give the wisdom and help needed.

She believes that the Lord led her to her off-grid property several years ago and has used this experience to help her and Johnathan prepare for the mission that lies ahead.

Sycilia is working to sell her camp trailer as well as most of her possessions in preparation for the work the Lord has called them to do.

Sycilia will be working with Tim Maddock’s school in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in the following capacities:

1. Caring for a dorm house of boys.

2. ⁠Teaching English classes to primary school children is a possibility.

3. ⁠Another possibility is helping to coordinate Pathfinders in the school program. 

4. ⁠Generally participating in campus activities.
