Stitches of Change Sewing SchOOls

MINISTRY: Stitches of Change Sewing Schools

LOCATION: India

TYPE OF MINISTRY: Occupational Training

MISSIONARIES INVOLVED: Various

There are over 40 million widows in India. These women are often forced to beg or sell themselves to make a living because they are uneducated and can’t get a job. Stitches of Change Sewing Schools are changing that, one woman at a time! This school teaches widows and abandoned women how to sew, giving them a better way of providing for their families!

$144 will pay for one woman to go through the six-month course to become a seamstress.

$150 will provide a sewing machine, given to her at graduation, so she can set up shop.

Testimony

Ashana is a woman who was trained to sew through the Sewing Schools project. She accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized, but she did not have a way to support herself.

After Ashana completed her training, Jesus for Asia helped her to start a small tailoring business. Still, a burden was growing in her heart. As she saw the needs and concerns of the women who came to her shop or lived in her village, she wanted to share the love of Jesus.

She became a de facto Bible Worker, spending more time witnessing than sewing; however, God continued to use her tailoring business to provide for her needs. She has expanded her ministry to teach other women to sew as she teaches them about Jesus.

SHARE these amazing outreach opportunities with friends and family.
