Injured Father Encouraged by Evening School: An Evening School Story

Ramesh worked hard to provide for his wife and two children. He had a good job as a technician in a medical lab until one day when he was in a terrible accident.

Both his legs were broken in the accident, and since he could not walk, he could not work. Ramesh’s circumstances weighed heavily on his shoulders. Not only was he in pain and virtually immobile, but he had no way to provide for his family’s needs.

During Ramesh’s time of crisis, the JFA Evening School in his village was a great blessing to his family. He knew he could not afford to send his children to private tutoring centers, but at the Evening School, they could get tutoring in all their school subjects for free, and could eat a healthy meal as well.

The Evening School’s care did not stop at his children. The pastor at the church where the Evening School was held, as well as the teacher, came and visited him. They prayed with him, bought him medicine with the little money they had, and took care of his family's needs.

Gradually, Ramesh’s legs have started to heal. He is able to get out of bed and walk a little, slowly.

Ramesh has shared that once he can walk and do things on his own, the first thing he and his wife will do is go to the church and be a witness there. He is so thankful for the kind-hearted people who have helped him, and he wants to share the love of God that he has experienced through the Evening School with others.

Please pray that Ramesh and his family will fully give their lives to Christ and that others will come to know Him through Ramesh’s testimony.

For only $9 a month, you can give a child in India the opportunity to attend a JFA Evening School without any cost to their families. Your support gives them the opportunity to increase their knowledge, eat healthy food they may not otherwise have access to, and learn about Jesus.
