No Intention: a Bible Worker Story

God works in mysterious ways. And sometimes, He works on people's hearts without them realizing what He's doing. Such was the experience of Premji, who sent in his testimony last month. Premji shares his story below:

My name is Premji. I come from a Hindu background. We were the worshippers of gods and goddesses. We also used to sacrifice to these gods and goddesses to please them.

One day, at my friends' request, I attended a church meeting. As I was sitting in the meeting, I had peace of mind. I felt as if I had come to some holy place. I heard the members sing very melodious songs and prayers.

When the meeting was over, I met Vijay (a JFA Bible Worker) and requested him to teach me more about Jesus. I had no intention of joining the Christian religion, but I wanted to know more about Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His life for mankind.

Vijay taught me about Jesus Christ and the Bible. As I started learning more and more about Jesus Christ, I stopped worshipping idols. Now, I pray and read the Bible. I am taking Bible Studies, and I want to join the Seventh-day Adventist church one day. Please pray for me and my family.

Shortly before His death on the cross, Jesus said, "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself" (John 12:32). Christ's unselfish act of love on the cross is something the world cannot replicate, and that is what drew Premji to Jesus despite his intentions. We believe that many more people in India, like Premji, would be drawn to Jesus if they had the chance to learn about Him.

We are grateful for our Bible Workers who help share Jesus in unreached areas every day (and for the faithful members who invite their friends to church). Thank you for your support and prayers for our Bible Worker program which help enable these ministers of the Gospel to do full-time ministry.
