A Grandmother Healed through JFA Evening Schools

Ever since his parents abandoned him, Jardias’s grandmother did her best to take care of him. Although she was becoming advanced in years, she worked hard to make sure her growing grandson could eat. Jardias, who was in eighth grade at the time, started attending the nearby JFA Evening School, where he could get help with his studies, eat healthy food, and learn about Jesus.

One day, when Jardias’s grandmother was on her way to work, she started to have severe leg pain. She couldn’t afford to take time off to get her leg looked at, so she tried her best to ignore it. Fluid began to build up in her leg, causing it to swell uncomfortably. After a while, a wound formed and began to leak and smell horribly due to the lack of care. She could no longer work, but she was still unable to see a doctor. For a while, her neighbors helped her, but the stench of her wound was so foul that her neighbors couldn’t stand to visit her anymore.

Realizing the severity of his grandmother’s condition, Jardias asked for prayer that night at the Evening School. The Evening School teachers and the pastor decided to visit and pray for her in person. They gave her some ointment for her leg and helped her to apply it.

Slowly, the wound began to heal, and the swelling started to reduce. Jardias’s grandmother was so happy when she could finally return to work. She began attending church and praised God for healing her. She is so thankful for the Evening School staff and their prayers.

We praise God for inspiring and sustaining our Evening School project over the years, so that thousands of children and their families can experience God’s love and power in their lives.

While this is one of our most cost-efficient projects, running 48 schools for nearly 1,500 children adds up, and we continue to get requests for more.
