We Can Hasten Jesus’ Coming

Vipin met a woman named Shanti in the market. She had seen him talking to one of her family members during some church meetings and learned he was a JFA Bible Worker. Shanti asked him to visit her family. She was a widow with three children and had no proper job, though she searched for one every day. She was willing to do anything for the betterment of her family. Vipin spent time with her family, praying and studying the Bible with them. God gave Shanti peace of mind and eventually answered her prayers for a job. Her faith increased, and she decided to be baptized.

As a Bible Worker serving his own people, Vipin is able to make long-lasting connections with those he serves. He can speak the local language fluently and knows how to relate to the culture of the people around him.

While foreign missionaries are valuable and needed, especially in places with no local Adventists to do the work, Native Bible Workers play a vital role in spreading the Gospel among the billions that have yet to hear it.

Besides language and cultural advantages, native Bible Workers don’t have to worry about visas or plane tickets (most of the time), and many of them are already established in the areas where they are serving. This makes their service not only less complicated but also more cost-effective than that of foreign missionaries.

Jesus for Asia has more than 800 Bible Workers serving in India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other sensitive countries.

These faithful workers go door to door, pray with people, take care of churches, teach children, plant gardens, do medical missionary work, make friends at the markets, and more to connect with people and share Jesus’ love with them.

We’re so grateful to God for the work He is doing through each of our Bible Workers, but the remaining need is still huge.

Even if we doubled our Bible Worker force, and even if every Adventist ministry doubled its Bible Worker force, we would still need thousands more workers to serve the countless seas of people in highly-populated countries like India and Indonesia.

Many other countries where we have no work yet, like Japan, also have great needs for local Bible Workers and foreign missionaries to live and share the Gospel. But God is working, and some of that might be changing. Keep praying with us for God to move in these places. We can help hasten Jesus’ coming as we pray and work together to share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard.

On average, supporting a Bible Worker costs $100-$300 per month because the cost of living in most places is much lower than in the U.S. Even with these stipends, however, our Bible Workers must live by faith to support their families and share their resources as God inspires them.

Please pray for all our Bible Workers and for God to provide for them and new Bible Workers in unentered areas. Like Jesus asked His disciples to pray: “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:38

If you would like to help hasten Jesus’ coming by supporting a Bible Worker, even if you can’t provide a whole stipend for one of them, please click the button below. We deeply appreciate your prayers and support.
